Theia AI Nutrition (Beta)

Updated over a month ago

Please note, this feature is still in Beta as we optimize our model for the most accurate experience possible.

We’re excited to introduce Theia AI Image Recognition, a powerful new feature designed to help users unlock more value from their metabolic insights. Our AI Image tool will recognize the following components of any logged image:

  • Caloric Information

  • Ingredients (Including Food Title)

  • Macronutrients

  • Micronutrients

How It Works

  • Take or Upload A Photo Of Food

  • Theia Analyzes The Image

  • Get Nutrition Results

To track a meal quickly, you can use the "Quick Photo" feature to snap a picture of what you're having.

You can also use the "+ Activity" Button in the app and then select "Food". Once you take a picture or upload an image, it will be analyzed by our AI tool.

Does the Analysis Impact my Activity Score?

Currently, the activity score is solely based on the glucose response to the input. That being said, the insights from the analysis will help you better understand how and why your body is reacting to various inputs.

Providing Feedback & Adjusting Logs

AI Image recognition is currently a beta feature, and we'd love feedback on the accuracy. When you log an image, the tool will ask, "Is this info accurate?" and you can respond with a simple thumbs up or thumbs down based on whether or not you believe our output is correct.

To adjust an output, simply click on the "Edit" button in the activity and you will be able to adjust the caloric, nutrient, and ingredients information.

Understanding the Nutrient Rollup (Macronutrients & Micronutrients) in Your Theia App

The Nutrient Rollup section gives you a real-time snapshot of your macronutrient intake for the day, helping you connect your food choices to your glucose levels and metabolic score.

Located just below your Daily Score and Glucose reading, this section shows the breakdown of calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, and fiber logged from your meals.

Tracking your daily macronutrients alongside your glucose readings helps you:

  • Understand how different meals impact your glucose responses

  • Optimize macronutrient balance for sustained energy and metabolic health

  • Identify patterns between food types and post-meal glucose spikes

View Daily Nutrient Averages

In addition to your real-time daily rollup, you can view average macronutrient intake over time in your Metabolic Report. This report helps you spot trends in protein, carb, fat, and calorie intake across the timeframe of your choosing, offering deeper insight into how your eating patterns may be influencing your metabolic health and glucose stability.
