MRI, CT Scans, and X-rays: Yes, you can keep your sensor on.
After rigorous testing, Abbott confirmed that Libre 2, Libre 3, and Libre 3 Plus sensors can be safely worn during MRI, CT, and X-ray procedures with no lasting impact on sensor accuracy.
A few things to keep in mind for MRI scans:
Leave your phone outside the exam room
Readings may be inaccurate during the scan but will return to normal within 1 hour afterward
Let your imaging team know you're wearing a sensor, as it may produce a small image artifact
Ultrasounds: Safe to wear.
Ultrasound does not use radiation or magnetic fields, so there is no concern about sensor damage or accuracy.
Diathermy: Remove your sensor.
High-frequency electrical heat (diathermy) treatment is the one procedure where you must remove all parts of your sensor beforehand. The effect of diathermy on the sensor has not been tested and could cause damage or inaccurate readings.
If your sensor stops working or needs to be replaced due to a medical procedure, you can request a free replacement from the "Sensors" tab: theiahealth.ai/sensors
